ACSO Identity Theft Guide
Law Enforcement officers are held to a higher standard of conduct than other citizens, and this is how it should be.  For they alone have been given the legal authority backed up by a badge, and a gun to enforce the law, to arrest people, and if necessary, to take a life in the performance of their duties.  No other group in our society has that power and it is an awesome responsibility.  Thus, it is perfectly appropriate for citizens to demand that their law enforcement officers demonstrate both in their public and private lives, good judgment, restraint in the use of force, the highest level of integrity, and respect of the law and for legal process.
